What is that?

Doc is still alive, the chocolate nore I have killed him. He did however throw up a gigantic (larger that a softball) mass the other morning. Amy says, "OH MY....... is that thing alive?!!" I checked for a pulse and confirmed it was not. It was however, a large ball of chocolate wedding labels, 9o to be exact!!!! You could still see the picture and print on most of them UUGH!!!!!! I honestly thought about posting a picture, it was amazing the fact that he got that up his esophagus!!! Stupid DOG!

Now accepting nominations for "DAD OF THE YEAR"

Mick has always had his own unique dress code for the boys. What I mean is he tends to not stick with the usual, "this shirt goes with these shorts" instructions that I give him. At times he does come up with cute coordinates that I never would have searched "outside the box/closet" to find. And at other times, I think it looks like the 3 year old picked out his own outfit and also dressed baby brother. We do let Kyan pick out and dress himself, the other day he wore a white undershirt under an American flag tank top, power ranger pajama pants and to bring the whole outfit together he picked black dress shoes! (he was complemented by 3 people at the grocery store.) Kyan sure has Micks sense of style!!!
Now that I have foreshadowed a bit for you.......Today our nanny did us a favor and drove to pick me up after work so I could drop the car off at the shop (need new break pads) Sometimes when I get off work and come home Nolan will be in the same outfit he was in when I left, she knows I can't stand it when Nolan doesn't wear PJs to bed. So she made point to mention, did you look to see what the boys are wearing? I turned to look in her back seat. Nolan, was wearing a blue and green base ball Nike jersey with plaid cotton blue and white shorts. Not too bad I thought. And Kyan was wearing jean shorts and a T-shirt. Lisa says laughing, I had Nolan in those shorts yesterday! All I thought was oh, Micks doing me a favor and saving on laundry, I figured the shorts must have still been clean (this doesn't happen often) Then it struck me.......Kyan was wearing NOLAN'S shorts. The poor kid had Daisy Dukes on, yes size 12/18 months! They fit around the waist, he has gotten skinny but they didn't come too far down from his boy parts..........what was Mick thinking?.........and this is what I would like to nominate Mick "Dad of the Year" for!

Sorry I didn't take a picture, I really didn't want anybody to get a hold of it when my little man is a teenager! actually....i forgot!

Doc Strikes Again......

I got these really cute candy labels off of ebay for the wedding. They are for hershey's nuggets. I wrapped about 60 of them and they were going to be on all the tables at the wedding in baskets mixed with kisses, well actually hugs with almonds (they are the right colors) They turned out so cute I was going to order more. They have our names and date on the side with calla lilies on the top and a thank you message on the bottom, super cute! Last night I had a bit of a sweet tooth after everybody was sleeping. I knew I had a few extra candies not wrapped with the personalized labels and was a bit excited to calm my chocolate craving. The bag was missing from the dresser and I thought for sure Mick through them out, he doesn't allow goodies in the house! Nope, I found the empty bag on the floor.....DOC! Ok so I immediately thought of the wedding candies......Doc ate all 90 pieces, wrappers and all! Its like they vanished into thin air! Ok so we all know this could kill Doc right? (ooo serves him right) But of course, Its my fault for leaving the candy out....eeeerrrrrr. Doc's not doing so well, he's walking around the house like a little old man, turns out the chocolate is toxic to the nervous system. I am a bit worried because he is not drinking and will get dehydrated. After a little bit of online research it turns out Doc ate enough to be fatal, so it looks like we may be bringing him in to the Vet. Will this Dog ever Learn????? Don't worry, I already ordered more labels to look cute on the tables!Ill keep you posted on Doc's crisis.

Random talk....(Im boring these days)

Did I mention this summer is flying by? I can not believe its almost august. I love Michigan summers! But why oh why to the winters have to suck so bad? Ok, I'm going to stop there, its too early to be thinking about the W word. Mick needs to interview in a few weeks for our potential new home. I have mixed feelings about where I want to spend the rest of my life and raise the boys. I must say I do like the Grand Rapids area, but its easy to say when its in the 80's. Mick and I were talking today about how much we are going to miss Lisa when we leave grand rapids. I think maybe I will propose the offer of her ditching out on her degree to come live with us and be our live in nanny (Im sure she has other plans) The boys are sharing a room now so why can't they when we move back home? HHmmmm aupair??? I think I would seriously consider it if Kyan's Preschool didn't cost $4,500 a year! Alright, that's enough about the summer ending! We are enjoying our time in GR. We took the boat out last weekend and caught some bass. Nolan did really good on the lake, he is like his brother "ALL BOY" They Love the fish and worms! I think Kyan killed half a dozen minnows taking them out of the bucket to show his baby brother (he is going to teach Nolan so much....this could be good or bad :)
Mick and I attended a Foo Fighters concert the other night on the firm, it was a good time. Dinner was fantastic and the concert....a little more head banging than I am into but they put on a good show and hey.....it was free! We are heading to an amature baseball game tomorrow night and we may do some camping this weekend (I will try to remember the camera, Im always forgetting it these days) , I love having Mick free from his studies I know I am going to miss him so much once school starts again. The wedding planning is great! You may wonder why I never touch base here.....I unlike most people am having a stress free wedding!!! Next weekend the girls are all heading to Traverse city for a little wine touring and other festivities to help celebrate!!!!! The next few weekends are completely booked as we will be heading to the UP almost every week (why cant gas be a buck-o-five a gallon?) Well Nolan continues to slam dunk his diapers in the trash and now says Ball to every round object he sees. Between "ball" and "etch" aka Catch, I think we may have the next Nolan Ryan I mean Nolan Larson! Kyan continues to be well......he's 3 and that's all I have to say there, I am sure these times will come to an end. Until next time......

Our little cuddle Pie (a little update on the Piester)

Nolan has turned the tables on his biting. I don't think he's tried to bite (other than when Kyan deserves it!) in over a week! Now he's all hugs and kisses! Whew, didn't want to have the bully baby in the neighborhood when we get back home in the fall! He loves to sit on anything "big people" sit on, chairs , couches etc. its so cute, he sits there like hes a VIP. He is also picking up on mommy's cleaning. The other day he was doing the "uuhhh uuhhh uuuhhh" (kid has no vocabulary ) and pointing at his dirty diaper after a change. He then grabbed it and took it to the kitchen and Slam Dunk, right into the trash! Now he has to throw EVERY diaper away. This is good because I have now started introducing him to hand hygiene, something our family takes very seriously, thank goodness for Purell! Unfortunately I have also found toys and sippy cups in the trash as well :(
I am thinking we may have another one out of diapers at a young age. Nolan was tapping on the potty the other day saying "pa pa pa" so just for SH*$'s (no pun intended) and giggles I put him on and .....sure enough Mr. Pie was red faced and poopin'!!!!! WOW he went in the potty at 14.5 months old, that beats Kyans 18 months! Now for mom and dads sake hopefully the little man can be out of diapers by the time Kyan was,.....come on 24 months! We have such smart boys!!!! Nolan got his 7th tooth, FINALLY! Now we just have to work on that vocabulary!

Over due

Wow, this summer is flying by! I have been in Grand Rapids now for a month already. We aren't that used to the tight living quarters but all in all things are going o.k. The kids are....well the kids are animals lately. They are doing really well with there nanny Lisa. I love having her around. Can you believe I get to take showers 3 days a week all my myself with no little monsters in the bathroom!!! Kyan has turned into a rebel without a cause. His favorite word is "NO!" and he insisted on doing what ever the $%*# he wants lately! Our new approach is to try to remain strict but applaud the good behavior. I feel bad because some times I feel we are constantly saying KYAN! NO!.... KYAN do this .....KYAN DO THAT. He's too smart for his own good and knows exactly what buttons to push and when to push them. Example #1 Lisa does not work on the day before I go into work at night, usually a good nap when the boys nap is good for me. So I lay both of them down at 1130 the other day, Nolan fell asleep (was quiet) by 1220. They usually will take a 2-3 hour nap. I fall asleep and wake up to the clock saying 1:00, the toilet flushing and Nolan screaming. Kyan tells me, "yeah, I tapped on Baby Brothers Shoulders to wake him up on the way to the bathroom" I WAS LIVID!!!! Lets just say Kyans plans to go to the zoo with his auntie that day, GONE! My sleep before work GONE too :( I think we just need to get through this summer and into year number 4. I am over 3 year olds. Kyan is still a lady's man and people person. It doesn't matter if a cats got your tongue, he'll get you to talk! He is still full of "Thank you Sir's" and "Thank you Mam's" and over all is an awesome intelligent 3 year old!
Mr. Pie has been navigating the word on two feet now for a few weeks. He no longer crawls anywhere unless its in a mad rush to get to something he's not supposed to. Like if he sees the opportunity to get into the bathroom if the door is left open. His teeth count and vocabulary are at the same level as they were a few weeks ago 6 teeth and barley any words! He does however do a really good impression on Tim the Tool Man Taylor. He says "Huh" to just about everything, its really funny! It's weird how I don't really care about when Pie hits his milestones, I want him to stay little forever. I remember wanting Kyan to crawl and then missing the times when he couldn't, yet still wanting him to learn to walk and when he could, wishing he was still a baby. So with Nolan.....he can take as long as he wants on everything! I loved how he didn't learn to walk until almost 14 months, he felt like a baby longer. Kyan learned before 10months! No thank you! Pie points to everything wanting to know what it is or be carried over to it. He always replies with "HUH" again, its priceless. He loves to turn on and off light switches and can not get enough off closing and opening his bedroom door. He is the first to chase kyan up the stairs if he sees his big brother going up. Nolan is a very aggressive baby and will bite you at any moment and if you back off he will raise his hand and hit you. We have NO IDEA where this behavior was learned. He doesnt care if you tell him no and that it hurts he will hit harder or bite harder. Poor Kyan has learned this all to well. We are all hoping this phase is a quick one. On the other hand if you say "Kiss" he will stop and drop everything he's doing, toddle over and give a big kiss. He also makes the "Muh" smacking sound with his lips now to go along with his wave when you say ba bye. His hair still remains ever so fly away and duck like and he is as cute as ever right now! He is quite the mammas boy but slowing turning daddy's way. He loves to be carried everywhere on my hip and both boys are constantly in competition for the center of attention. Add the attention seeking dog we own to that and you have one caotic time....Kyan saing mamma mama mama, Pie hitting me then biting, then crying, and the dog liking everybody as fast as he can sneak on in! Oh the caos!! Thank you Lisa for still being around after a month! Both boys are loving the out door summer fun. We went to Michigan's adventures last weekend and Kyan went on his first Roller Coaster and did some big water slides as well! We all had a blast. Nolan liked just hanging out in the lawn chair like a "big Boy" Mick is busy at work and is loving his job. I am very happy to know he is going to love his career after finishing up law school next year! We are heading up to the U.P. later this afternoon for the 4th and his 10 year class reunion. This was a lot crammed into one post, Ill try not to be so distant from now on. I can gladly say I am happy I have not been spending too much time blogging over the summer (mick should be proud!!)
